AIRBRAKE KIT FOR SSG24 THAT DOESN'T COST AN ARM AND A LEG.
Airbrake pin reduces sound at the expense of some power loss. They work by partially blocking the cylinder nozzle and creating an air cushion that slows down the piston right before impact.
It is yet un-proven whether the tradeoff is worth it when compared to a weaker spring but at worst - these act as great way to reduce the power down to field limits.
The kit comes with a CNC modified piston head and 5 different length pins:
- 10.0 mm
- 13.5 mm
- 17.0 mm
- 20.5 mm
- 24.0 mm
These pins are based on airbrakes made for SSG10 by Novritsch but these are made with shorter mounting stem so you wouldn't need to modify the piston and they are also made with tighter fitment in the rubber so they wouldn't fly out. Piston head itself is manufactured by Modify and modified by us.

When doing any sound tests it's important to measure the sound when standing away 10m or more and shoot towards the camera / sound meter. Any closer and the sound is too saturated to hear / show any differences.

Unlike SSG24 / SSG10 design pins, these are inserted from the inside while the piston head is removed. This is due to the SSG96's cylinder head dampener very small hole that doesn't allow for a stabilizing element around the outside of the pin. It's less convenient but at least there is absolutely no risk that they could shoot out. Piston head itself is manufactured by Modify and modified by us.
